I remember being completely mesmerized by the soft voiced man on the guitar,but only vaguely aware of his absolute transcendent ear and ability, and in retrospect, oblivious to the tribulations of his life.
I have most of his releases on LP, except for a bunch of the newer ones put out by Bachman.

He had taken some of my fragmentary ideas, and gone on and on into musical areas I had never dreamed of. I've even written the CBC a few times to see if they'll re-air this program, but no such luck. I met Randy Bachman after a show he played at Centre in the Square in Kitchener, he signed a songbook that I purchased and I had a quick chat with him for a couple of mins since the crowd was starting to disperse. It was with the first viewing of this film that I was apprised of the actual circumstances of his death, I don't know if his loss should seem even greater to me. A documentary entitled “The Genius of Lenny Breau” was produced in 1999 by his daughter Emily Hughes. I have the book...now have to get a few CD's.
