I didn’t love it, but I could certainly think, and your reviews seems to corroborate this…it might improve on a second read. "Heart of the Matter" is probably her best novel. I enjoyed this novel much more than I thought I would. After reading all of Emily Giffin's books, this is probably her worse so far and makes me second guess reading her book coming out this July. I first read The Heart of the Matter more than 30 years ago but never appreciated the power of the novel at the time.
